LACE WORKS; CONTEMPORARY ART & NOTTINGHAM LACE

10 NOVEMBER 2012 - 10 FEBRUARY 2013

Highlights from Nottingham City Museums' historic lace collection provide a rich context for six contemporary artists whose work is inspired by lace. From fine thread to heavy metal, the exhibition includes existing work and exciting new pieces made especially for the exhibition. The Castle's internationally important collection acts as a catalyst for new ideas that challenge traditional definitions of lace.

Artists: Lucy Brown, Joy Buttress, Nicola Donovan, Cal Lane, Teresa Whitfield, Timorous Beasties
