CIL aims to support and strengthen links between the University of Nottingham and Chemistry Using SMEs within the East Midlands. The project will facilitate access to specialist skills, knowledge, equipment and new technologies to help SMEs innovate and grow.

Funding is available to support specific projects with eligible companies. A project could include consultancy, training, analytical, feasibility, knowledge transfer or research work which benefits the SME. Funds are also available to support short secondments of postgraduates into eligible companies.

CIL will also support a series of knowledge transfer events providing information about key developments in chemical science and modern analytical techniques, aimed at helping SMEs better identify how these may be applied to benefit their business.
