Sex Entertainment Venue
Type of venue
A sex entertainment venue is a premise at which any live performance or live display of nudity is provided, which is of such a nature that it must reasonably be assumed to be provided solely or principally for the purpose of sexually stimulating any member of the audience.
Lap dancing, strip shows and similar entertainment will fall under this definition. Therefore if this entertainment is to be provided on a regular basis after 1 September 2011 your premises may require an additional licence to regulate sexual entertainment.
Please contact the licensing office for an application pack.
The Council's policy on sex establishments has now been published and incorporates the new category of sexual entertainment venues.
