Building Control only needs to be notified if the demolition is more than 50m3 in volume.

Upon receipt of your Demolition Application Form and scaled plan showing the extent of the demolition in relation to roads and adjoining buildings under Section 80 of the Building Act 1984, we will provide you with a list of government departments, utilities providers and adjacent or adjoining building owners which legally must be informed in advance of any demolition. A notice to the adjoining owners under the Party Wall Act may also be required.

No demolition to which Section 80 of the Building Act 1984 applies should start unless notice has been given to the Council and either the Council has issued a Demolition Approval Notice, or 6 weeks has passed.

The fee applied to all Demolition Applications is £250.00.

This payment is required to validate your Application upon submission and prior to being granted permission.
