Nottingham City Council’s Public Health Department

Nottingham City Council’s Public Health Department is undertaking a comprehensive commissioning review of its 0–19 Healthy Child Service, which includes the Health Visiting and School Nursing Services. The review aims to ensure the service continues to meet the evolving needs of children, young people, and families in Nottingham, and delivers strong public health outcomes.

A vital part of this review is gathering insights from professionals who work with children, young people and families who have experience of working with the 0-19 service Healthy Child Service. We are particularly interested in your views on current strengths, service gaps, and opportunities for improvement to help inform future commissioning decisions.

An independent organisation, Define, will be carrying out this element of the review on our behalf. In addition to speaking with professionals like yourself, they will also engage directly with members of the 0–19 health service workforce. All feedback will be pooled and anonymised, so no individual can be identified.

You and your colleagues can take part in one or both of the following engagement activities over the coming months:

• A one-to-one conversation with a Define researcher (Teams or Zoom), 45–60 minutes at a time convenient for you (08:00–20:00, including after hours).
• A short online survey (around 10 minutes) to complete in your own time.

While participation is voluntary, as a valued partner, your unique insights and experience will contribute significantly to the overall feedback.

Please also share this invitation with your teams and networks, helping us reach as many people as possible who work with children, young people and families in Nottingham.
