Audience: Specifically for Nottingham City PVI Practitioners (Day Nurseries and Preschools) who are NEW to the DSL role.

Course Overview: This course is specifically tailored to support practitioners new to the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead or practitioners who are being developed to take on the role. 

 This course will support practitioners understanding of:

  • Child protection law and legislation
  • Signs/indicators
  • Early intervention and prevention
  • Making referrals, record keeping and action planning
  • Safer working practices for staff
  • Maintaining a culture of vigilance
  • The EYFS Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements

Course Pre-requisites: Delegates are required to familiarise themselves with the Safeguarding and Promoting Children's Welfare requirements and their settings Safeguarding policy prior to attendance.
