Developing Early Number Sense 4-5 Years

Audience: Specifically for Practitioners working with 4-5 year olds in Reception

Course Overview:  When children have daily, long-term opportunities to work and play with numbers it supports future growth in their mathematical thinking, confidence and enthusiasm about mathematics.  

 Course Aims

  • Develop practitioners’ understanding of Early Number Sense 
  • Understand how to develop a mathematically engaging environment
  • Develop strategies to help develop children's reasoning, including foundations for children to develop more advanced number skills and planning and delivering number sense sessions
