Do Something Big
The DfE are incredibly excited to introduce their new national recruitment campaign for early years and the childcare sector;
Do something BIG. Work with small children.
This campaign shines a light on the great careers available in the sector and recognises the lifelong impact childcare professionals have on children during their most formative years. It will run across TV, cinema, social media, online, radio and billboard advertising.
The campaign aims to promote the early years sector and encourage people to find out how unique and rewarding early years careers can be. The campaign is an opportunity to have a shared and unifying voice across early years and childcare, showing the country that working with small children is a big deal. The campaign website has all the information to help people take steps to start their own early years and childcare career, with job application advice, information on training and qualifications and real life stories of those already in early years and childcare.
The ‘Do something Big’ communications toolkit contains information and resources to help communicate the campaign messages and amplify recruitment activity for your setting.
Posting your Vacancies - DWP Find a Job Platform
The campaign directs potential applicants to the DWP Find a job vacancy platform to search for early years roles in their area.
This service is free to use and will ensure vacancies are seen by a large pool of potential candidates so please take advantage of this free recruitment platform available to you, just follow the instructions on how to create an employer account and post any current or upcoming roles in your setting on Find a Job.
DfE Early Years Applicants Survey - IFF Research
The Department for Education has commissioned IFF Research to conduct some research with people who have started a role working with children up to the age of 4 in the last 6 months or have applied for such roles. If this applies to you, the DfE would really value hearing about your views and experiences. Please click on this link to complete a short survey: www.iffresearch.com/eyfi/la
