Local Services and Support

  • Age UK - The Veterans at Home Service, in partnership with The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust Fund and The Royal British Legion, are supplying tailored activity packs to lonely and isolated Veterans to assist with their cognitive stimulation.
  • Forces in the Community - A local charity committed to supporting ex-service personnel and their families to reach their full potential. The charity delivers tailored employment guidance, housing advice, mental health support and provides a supportive environment in which to develop. 
  • Nottinghamshire Veterans' NHS - The service provides assessment of mental health and social care needs, treatment and support options for veterans with service related conditions and their families. 
  • The Royal Air Forces Association - Our dedicated welfare team is here to help you. Whether you need someone to talk to, help finding financial support, or something else entirely, we can help you find a solution.
  • The Royal British Legion Clifton - Members get together through the network of branches and clubs all over the country and overseas to participate in social, fundraising and welfare activities.
  • SSAFA Nottinghamshire - We are the Nottinghamshire branch of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. Our services reflect the financial, practical and emotional issues people face today and they are freely available to virtually everybody with a Service connection.

National Services and Support

  • Blind Veterans UK - We can help ex-Service men and women rebuild their lives after sight loss.
  • Combat Stress - Combat Stress provides a range of community, outpatient and residential mental health services to veterans with complex mental health problems. We provide services in-person, and via phone and online.
  • Help for Heroes - Mental health and wellbeing, welfare, financial support and sports recovery programme for veterans.
  • The Officers' Association - We exist to help officers find employment and to relieve hardship amongst those who have held a Commission in the Armed Forces, their families and dependants.
  • Remploy Veterans - Support for disabled people to get into work. Whether you simply need advice and guidance, or more specialist support for complex needs, our team can help.
  • Veteran's Gateway - Information, advice and support for veterans and their families. We’re still here for you 24/7. And we’re also the first point of contact for all your welfare needs. From healthcare and housing to employability, and more. We refer you directly to our vetted partners. Get in touch for our unique support.
  • Veterans Aid - Terms all the charity’s activities revolve around helping ex-servicemen and women in crisis.
  • Veterans UK - The Ministry of Defence’s Veterans UK helpline provides assistance on many issues including benefits, housing and welfare.
  • The Warrior Programme - Working with charities and local organisations to support you with your wider health and wellbeing needs, such as housing, relationships, finances, employment, drug and alcohol misuse and social support.
  • Walking with the Wounded - WWTW supports disadvantaged veterans who have served in the Armed Forces and their families, empowering them to regain their independence, thrive and contribute in our communities.
