You’ll start your ASYE and after 6 months, you’ll be progressed to the Level 2

L2 Social Worker  

(ASYE Programme)  

 

On completion of your ASYE, you’ll be progressed to a L3 Social Worker.  

This usually takes 6 months 

 

£32,020 

That’s a £3,649 pay rise in 6-months (from L1) 

L3 Social Worker  

Gaining experience after your ASYE completion, you’ll progress to an experienced social worker after 18 months 

£36,298 (1-12 months)  

£38,296 (12-18 months) 

That’s a £6,276 pay rise in 18-months (from L2)  

 

Experienced Social Worker 

 

Our most senior social worker post (full case load). 

Depending on where you see yourself in the future, you could choose to stay here OR progress onto our management and leadership roles  

 

£41,496 (1-12 months)  

£43,516 (12 months +)  

PLUS a £3k Welcome and Retention payment*  

That’s a £7,218 pay rise in 12 months (from entry pay at L3)  

 

That’s a £18,145 total pay increase from NQSW to Experienced Social Worker in as little as three-and-a-half years

The first layer of our management/leadership roles, depending on where you see yourself in the future, you could choose to stay here or continue up the management structure…

Team Manager  

An experienced social worker and manager rolled into one, depending on where you see yourself in the future, you could choose to stay here or continue up the management structure…

Service Manager 

It’s now your service to shape and lead. Depending on where you see yourself in the future, you could choose to stay here or continue up the management structure to Head of Service

*The welcome and retention payment is a lump sum payable to those social workers with 2-years experience as a qualified social worker with Nottingham City Council or another organisation  

The inclusive market supplement for senior prac/team managers is a monthly amount spread over the year. It’s an additional £1k in year one increasing to an additional £2k in year two and beyond (subject to market factors and a renewed business case).
