What is Community Triggers?

The Community Trigger gives victims and communities the right to request a review of their cases and bring agencies together.

Who can Request a Review?

The victim or another person acting on their behalf can request the review, such as a family member, MP or councillor.

Which Agencies may be involved?

Agencies who may be involved with the trigger review may include the following:

  • Police
  • Local authority
  • Social housing providers
  • Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)

How do you request a review of an anti-social case ASB?

To request a community trigger, a single ASB case must have been reported three times or more within the last six months.

To request a review under the Community Trigger, complete the online form. You'll need to have the details of your case ready.

What If I haven't reported the incident of ASB more than three times in the last six months?

If you haven't reported the incident of ASB more than three times in the last six months, then you still have various options, such as:

  • Report a new case
  • Add additional information to an existing case
  • Make a formal complaint to the relevant authority if your case hasn't been dealt with correctly.

Annual Reports of Community Trigger Outcomes

Community Trigger Reviews 2021 to 2022

For the financial year 2021 to 2022 (1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022), the outcomes for Nottingham City Council are

  • 31 applications received
  • 26 applications met the threshold, and five did not
  • Those applicants whose request to raise a Community Trigger where the threshold was not met were contacted, and their complaints of anti-social behaviour were received and dealt with accordingly
  • 23 case reviews conducted so far, with a further three studies booked in for April 2022
  • No formal recommendations were made, but formal action plans and formal support plans were agreed
