Overview
A gambling premises licence allows Businesses or individuals that wish to provide gambling facilities at bingo halls, bookmakers, amusement arcades, race courses and sporting arenas (where betting takes place). Also, a licenced is needed if you provide entertainment like performances, showing a film, recorded and live music, dance sporting events.

Bingo premise licensing
A Bingo Premises is entitled to operate a maximum of 20% of the total number of gaming machines available for use on the premises in categories Category B3 or Category B4.
Remote bingo operating licence
If linked bingo, handheld bingo terminals or automated bingo terminals are available to customers, an ancillary remote bingo operating licence is required from the Gambling Commission.
Betting premises licence
A Betting Premises Licence will allow a maximum of four Category B2 to Category D gaming machines to be used at the premises.
Casino premises licence
Statute dictates that only the Government can increase the number of casinos through regulation. Nottingham City Council does not permit new casino applications due to a 'no casino resolution'. Only existing operators can be issued with a Casino Premises Licence. Converted Casinos can have a maximum of 20 Category B or unlimited Category C and Category D machines. An annual fee for the premises licence is required, and non-payment will result in revocation.
Family entertainment centre premises licence
Licensed Family Entertainment Centres will be permitted to offer unlimited Category C and Category D gaming machines. Children will be allowed entry to Licensed Family Entertainment Centres and play on Category D machines.

You must also complete a notice of application that should be sent to all relevant Responsible Authorities.
Fees
Please see Gambling Act 2005 for the current application fees.
There will be an annual fee for the premises licence issued by the Authority. Failure to pay the annual fee will result in the licence being revoked.
Unlicensed Family Entertainment Centres are permitted to have an unlimited number of Category D gaming machines.
Children will be permitted on the premises and able to play on the Category D machines.
Unlicensed Family Entertainment Centre permits will be granted for ten years.

Applying for a provisional statement premises licence to get a temporary licence that will allow the sale of alcohol or provision of regulated entertainment at a premise still under construction or not yet completed.
