A Temporary Use Notice (TUN)
A Temporary Use Notice (TUN) is a legal document that permits an individual or an organisation to conduct gaming activities for a limited duration at a specific location. It's important to note that a TUN can only be issued if the premises user already holds a relevant operating licence from the Gambling Commission.

The Temporary Use Notice must be received by the licensing authority not less than three months and one day before the day the temporary gambling event begins.
Please send the application to Nottingham City Council; copies must also be sent to the following Responsible Authorities:
- Gambling Commission
- Police
- HM Customs and Excise
- If applicable, any other Licensing Authority
The licensing authority and the other Responsible Authorities listed above are allowed to make objections in relation to the Temporary Use Notice. Any complaint must be made within fourteen days of receiving the Temporary Use Notice, and a counter notice will be issued to the applicant.
A hearing will then take place to determine the Temporary Use Notice application.
If no objections are received, the event is permitted to take place. The licensing authority will endorse and return the Temporary Use Notice to the applicant. The Temporary Use Notice must be displayed at the premises where the event is taking place for the duration.
Fees
The fee for this type of application is £250.00
Occasional Use Notices (OUNs)
Occasional Use Notices (OUNs) enable licensed bookmakers to offer betting services at authentic sporting events for a limited time without acquiring a complete betting premises licence.
This applies to events such as point-to-point racecourses or significant golf tournaments, provided they are temporary or infrequent.

The Occasional Use Notice will need to be sent to the licensing authority and the Chief Officer of Police for the area where the track is located.
The Occasional Use Notice must specify the day the betting will take place. The notice may be for consecutive days as long as the eight-day limit is not exceeded.
Provided that the betting does not occur for more than eight days, there is no provision for objections to be submitted, and the licensing authority will acknowledge your notice.
Fees
There is no fee for this type of application.
