Name of Organisation: Refugee Roots

Short Description of Organisation

Refugee Roots helps refugees and people seeking asylum to build relationships and navigate the complexities of building a new life in the UK. We deliver a range of activities and initiatives in Nottingham including advice & guidance, ESOL, creative arts programmes, cooking and eating events, community days, day trips, and cultural celebrations including commissioned work.

Summary of planned improvements

Office improvements include the creation of two confidential meeting rooms, offering safe, private spaces for advice sessions, befriending meetings, volunteer meetings and family support.

We will create an outdoor green area on our roof space, with planting and a seating area. This will be used for outdoor meetings, gardening activities, art sessions and befriending activities.

We will also improve the kitchen to make it easier to provide refreshments for meetings and water bottle refills, as well as improving the bathroom facilities.

Planned completion date for improvements: 10/2025
