Name of Organisation: Belong Nottingham

Short Description of Organisation

Belong Nottingham is a Refugee Community Organisation (RCO) founded in 2002 in response to asylum dispersal to Nottingham, adopting CIO status in 2016. Led by people with lived experience, we deliver trauma-informed, practical support for refugees, asylum seekers, and vulnerable migrants. Based at Tennyson Hall. Our services address cost of living pressures through welfare advice, warm hubs, food provision, energy-saving workshops, employability and ESOL support.

Summary of planned Activity and events

-    Warm hub sessions will run at Unit C, Tennyson Hall from 3 November 2025 to 27 February 2026, two days per week. Each four-hour session (late morning to early afternoon) offers a heated, staffed space with homemade soup, donated bread, and hot drinks. Alongside, drop-in welfare and employability advice will run continuously, with two 45-minute workshops on budgeting, benefits, and energy saving. Equipment will be stored at Tennyson Hall, with volunteers and staff coordinating kitchen, welcome, and advice roles.

-    Monthly three-hour satellite pop-ups will reach residents in Radford, Hyson Green, and the Arboretum unable to travel. The hub targets households facing cost of living hardship within Nottingham City, prioritising refugees, asylum seekers, migrants with English as an additional language, older people, and low-income families. Interpretation and ESOL-friendly materials will be available.

-    Welfare officers will check benefits, assist with Pension Credit, Winter Fuel Payment, and Free School Meals, and refer to debt and council support. Workshops to teach low-cost energy behaviours, and participants receive draught excluders, radiator foil, and window kits. Employability advisers support CVs, job searches, and training access.
