Name of Organisation: Bestwood Park Community Association

Short Description of Organisation

Bestwood Park Community Association is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation established in 2015 to support residents across Bestwood and Top Valley. We deliver inclusive community activities that reduce isolation and ease the cost of living, including free meals through Bestop Kitchen, Places of Welcome sessions, and family fun days.

Our work engages people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, including vulnerable and low-income households. Through partnerships with local schools, nurseries, and voluntary groups, we provide warm, safe, and welcoming spaces where residents can access food, advice, and friendship, helping to build a stronger, more connected community

Summary of planned Activity and events

Bestwood Park Community Association will deliver a programme of warm, welcoming, and inclusive community events to support households in Bestwood and Top Valley through the winter months.

Our main activities include the continuation of Bestop Kitchen and Places of Welcome sessions at Bestwood Park Community Hub.
Bestop Kitchen runs weekly, providing freshly cooked two-course meals for up to 50 residents each session. These meals offer vital support to families and individuals facing food and fuel poverty, giving them a chance to enjoy a hot meal in a safe, friendly environment. A special Christmas meal will also be held to bring festive cheer to residents.

Following each meal, our Places of Welcome sessions encourage social connection and provide practical advice on managing the cost of living and improving household energy efficiency. We will also distribute Winter Warmer Packs containing items such as thermal socks, heated blankets, and LED bulbs to help households stay warm affordably.

Together, these activities reduce food insecurity, tackle loneliness, and empower residents with the knowledge and tools to lower their living costs, ensuring that our community feels supported, valued, and connected throughout the winter season.
