Short Description of Organisation 

We are a community-focused organisation dedicated to promoting equality, inclusion, and empowerment among underrepresented and disadvantaged groups. Based at the Beechdale Community Centre, we deliver a range of community engagement activities including foodbank support, healthy community meals, digital inclusion workshops, youth mentoring, and employability programmes.

Our work focuses on improving wellbeing, reducing isolation, and building confidence by creating opportunities for learning, volunteering, and social connection. Through partnerships with local organisations, we aim to strengthen community resilience, support families facing hardship, and empower individuals to achieve personal growth and long-term stability.

Summary of planned Activity and events

Running from November 2025 to February 2026, sessions will be held every Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM under the theme “Warming Hearts, Nourishing Culture, Strengthening Community.”

The weekly Friday cooking sessions serve as a safe and social space to bond, learn, and ease the loneliness or low moods that often accompany winter. Through shared meals like Chicken & Vegetable Stew, Jollof Rice, and Caribbean Oxtail Stew, participants will connect across cultures while enjoying nourishing food, recipe cards, and practical healthy-living tips.

Beyond meals, Winter Essentials Starter Packs will be distributed to help families stay warm and comfortable.

In addition, themed one-off monthly sessions will run alongside the cooking programme:

• Tuesday 25th November – Energy Basics over Breakfast, focusing on simple, money-saving home energy tips.
• Tuesday 16th December – Festive Warmth on a Budget, offering creative, low-cost seasonal ideas.
• Tuesday 6th January – New Year, Lower Bills, with practical ways to cut household costs.

Applications for participation have already been received via our online form.

Altogether, this initiative aims to foster belonging, cultural appreciation, and resilience within the community during the winter.
