Short Description of Organisation 

Established in 2008, FareShare Midlands is a collaborative partner of FareShare UK. We take good quality, nutritious food surpluses from retailers and industry to provide food for over 80,000 households across the Midlands living in food poverty.

We are the region’s largest food redistribution charity and we work through local partners to address one of the most urgent issues that the UK faces today; food poverty and insecurity. 

This year, as the cost of living crises continues to devastate household incomes, thousands of additional families and individuals across the region will find themselves in severe hardship and newfound food poverty.

Summary of planned Activity and events

Our aim is to secure additional funding to support our activities during the winter period, when beneficiaries face unique challenges that we need to support them through.

The proposed activity will ensure that the supply of food households living in food poverty need over the winter period remains available,  reducing the strain on household budgets by ensuring affordable, healthy food is available, allowing households to avoid incurring debt, or making hard choices between heating and eating as energy bills remain high over the winter months.

FareShare Midlands works with a wide range of different charities, and community groups across Nottingham’s diverse communities to ensure support is provided to anyone who needs it.
