Name of Organisation: International Development Foundation for Community Integration & Support Services CIC

Short Description of Organisation

We are a Nottingham-based not-for-profit community interest company - supporting, advancing, and community integration, particularly among West African communities through culturally sensitive outreach.

Our work addresses health inequalities, winter hardship, and digital exclusion via peer-led advice, tailored resources, and strategic partnerships. We deliver energy-saving guidance, mental health awareness, and digital skills training, ensuring access to justice and essential services.

Through inclusive governance and community consultation, we empower residents to shape solutions and build resilience. Our approach centres on lived experience, equity, and sustainability by bridging gaps in mainstream provision, empowering marginalised groups to lead sustainable and connected lives.

Summary of planned Activity and events

We will deliver targeted outreach to West African communities in Nottingham, addressing winter hardship, energy poverty, and food insecurity through culturally appropriate interventions. Activities include the distribution of staple African foods and products that meet dietary and cultural needs, alongside tailored energy advice to reduce fuel poverty. Peer educators will host drop-in sessions and WhatsApp-based engagement to share practical tips on energy efficiency, accessing support schemes, and managing rising costs.

We will also provide culturally sensitive guidance on health and wellbeing during colder months, recognising the intersection of housing, income, and cultural barriers. Events will be co-designed with community members to ensure relevance and dignity, and will include warm hubs, food-sharing initiatives, and digital access points.

Our approach centres on lived experience, trust-building, and inclusive governance by empowering residents to shape solutions and access support confidently.
