Short Description of Organisation 

Signpost to Polish Success (SPS) is a Nottingham-based charity supporting Eastern European and other migrant residents to overcome hardship, language barriers, and exclusion.

Established in 2005, we provide advice and signposting (regarding issues such as financial hardship, housing, health and utilities); ESOL and IT courses; social and cultural activities; community media through East Midlands po Polsku.

We run Coffee Mornings for older residents, volunteering opportunities, and a Hate Crime Reporting Centre. Our mission is to empower communities, promote integration, and reduce poverty and social isolation across Nottingham City.

Summary of planned Activity and events

Between November 2025 and March 2026, SPS will deliver Warm Hub and Cost-of-Living Support activities for at least 60 Nottingham City households. Weekly Coffee Mornings (Wednesdays, 10am–12pm) will provide a safe, heated space for older and vulnerable residents to socialise, receive hot drinks and snacks, and access practical information on reducing household bills and staying healthy in winter.

We will also offer 1-2-1 advice sessions on financial resilience, housing, accessing health services and utilities, helping residents manage financial pressures. Vouchers will be distributed to those in greatest need. Our warm hub will operate across all SPS services (ESOL, IT, community drop-ins), ensuring free, inclusive access. Activities will be promoted via our bilingual newspaper, Facebook, posts, and direct outreach.

The project builds on last year’s successful Winter Support programme, helping residents save on energy costs, stay warm, and reduce social isolation.
