Making Payments for Official Searches and Personal Searches

Payments are to be made by BACs for both Official Searches and Personal Searches for the foreseeable future

When you make the payment to the banking team you will also need to copy in locallandcharges@nottinghamcity.gov.uk into this also state the property you are paying for. 

We will not be able to accept payments by any other method. 

Personal searches will still need to book an appointment with us and the best way to do this by email (locallandcharges@nottinghamcity.gov.uk).

How to obtain land and property information held by us, through an Official or Personal Search

Our Land Charges team provide a comprehensive service to purchasers of property who need, as part of the conveyancing process, to find out about legal charges and notices affecting the property.

Official Searches

An official local search is available from the Local Land Charges Section, based at Loxley House, Nottingham. You can request a search:

• By email to locallandcharges@nottinghamcity.gov.uk, or
• By post, to the
  Local Land Charges Section,
  Loxley House,
  Station Street,
  Nottingham,
  NG2 3 NG, with the traditional forms (LLC1 and CON29R)

If you choose to obtain a search by email please send your cheque, payable to Nottingham City Council through the post to the above address.

Please Note: Official or Personal Searches will not be processed until full payment has been received.  Payment will be taken from Personal Search Agents on the day of the appointment.  If no cheque is available on the day the searches will not be given to the agent until full payment has been received.

Prices

Please note our new prices below effective from 1st April 2019. 

Any searches received after 5 pm (17:00 Hrs) on Monday 1st April will be subject to the new fee below.

Personal Searches

Personal searches can be undertaken by appointment.

• Appointment times for Personal Search Agents are available from 9.30am to 11.30am in hour slots
• Upon booking of a personal search, we will give you the next available appointment, but we will need at least 48 hours notice. You will also need to provide us with the correct address, including the area and if needed supply us with a plan 
• Payment to be made at the Local Land Charges Section upon arrival. (Cheque payments only to be made payable to Nottingham City Council)
• If you require any of the Component Data Questions (CON29R) you will need to inform us at the time of booking the search and confirm this with an email
