Walks Around Nottingham

Two of the City Council's priorities are to promote a "healthy Nottingham" and to improve the quality of life of its citizens. To get Nottingham active, since 2011 the LAF have produced a series of self-guided walk leaflets promoting walking, public rights of way and local history, you download and view these below.

Please note that these leaflets may be periodically updated, and some landmark information may change. From time to time some paths, tracks and public rights of way may have to be temporarily closed to enable works to take place on or near them. For safety reasons it is not always possible to keep these parts of the walk open but in most cases there will be an alternative route available. Please report any problems you may find on the way to John Lee

Guidelines for Walkers

  • Ensure that you wear suitable comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing
  • Sun protection is advisable, especially in hot or sunny weather
  • Do not walk too soon after eating
  • Do not walk if you feel dizzy or unwell
  • If you suffer from heart problems, you should consult with your GP before starting the exercise

  • Take something to drink, especially in hot/warm weather
  • Try to find local landmarks or faculties in the area. This will help plan walk and know what to do if nature calls, an emergency, or if you need to rest/refreshment.

Nottingham City Council is working with Best Foot Forward to offer several short walks in the Nottingham City area. These free guided health walks allow you to improve your health, make new friends, have fun and get to know your local environment. Everyone welcome
