Trading Standards:
- Can help your business comply with consumer protection laws.
- Help provide a level playing field for businesses.
- Make sure that consumers are protected when they buy goods and services and that reputable businesses can operate on a level playing field.
We do this by:
- Investigating complaints about the unfair and unsafe trading practice
- Inspecting businesses to make sure they are in line with the law and understand their responsibilities
- Giving advice and information to businesses to help them comply with the law
Our enforcement policy sets out what businesses can expect from our enforcement officers. It commits us to good enforcement policies and procedures.
