Overview

Albany House Day Service is a dedicated day service that provides Albany House entrance comprehensive support and care for individuals over the age of 50. We specialise in assisting those with physical and sensory impairments, mental health challenges, learning disabilities, and those in need of specialist dementia support. Our modern facility is designed to offer a safe, comfortable, and stimulating environment where our participants can thrive.

Our Mission

At Albany House, our mission is to enhance the well-being of each individual by providing personalised care, engaging activities, and a Albany House activity room strong sense of community. We are committed to fostering independence, dignity, and joy in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Specialised Care: Our experienced team is equipped to support a wide range of needs, including physical and sensory impairments, mental health issues, learning disabilities, and dementia care. We create individualised care plans that focus on promoting independence while ensuring safety and comfort.

Engaging Activities: We offer a variety of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of our participants. From arts and crafts, music sessions, and gardening in our raised flower beds, to internet-based activities and social games, there's something for everyone.

Local Area Outings: We believe in the importance of staying connected with the community. Regular outings to local attractions, parks, and shopping areas provide opportunities for social interaction, exploration, and enjoyment.  Albany House gym

Modern Facilities: Albany House is housed in a contemporary building designed with our participants' needs in mind. Our facilities include comfortable seating areas, internet access, and well-maintained outdoor spaces with raised flower beds and outdoor seating, perfect for relaxation and socialising.

Specialist Dementia Support: For those living with dementia, we provide specialist care and activities designed to stimulate cognitive function and enhance quality of life. Our team is trained in dementia care practices and works closely with participants and their families to ensure the best possible support.

Bathing Facilities: We understand the importance of personal care and offer fully equipped bathing facilities to help participants maintain their dignity and hygiene in a comfortable and supportive environment.

Expert Care: Our staff are highly trained in providing care that meets the unique needs of older adults, particularly those with complex health conditions and impairments.  Albany House garden

Varied and Inclusive Activities: We offer a diverse range of activities and outings to keep our participants engaged, active, and socially connected.

Focus on Independence: We are dedicated to helping our participants maintain their independence for as long as possible, with the support they need to do so safely.

Whilst spending time at Albany House we offer tea, coffee, or cold drinks. These are normally served on your arrival and after lunch. There are always biscuits available in the mornings to go alongside Albany House dining room your drink. Filtered drinking water and juice are available all day as we feel it is important to your health and wellbeing to stay hydrated. 

Lunch is served each day at 12:00pm. Hot meals are provided by the onsite Kitchen (chargeable) or you are more than welcome to bring your own packed lunch if you wish.

Albany House Day Service is open to adults over the age of 50 with physical and sensory impairments, mental health needs, learning disabilities, and dementia. Eligibility for our services is typically determined through an assessment conducted by social work teams. Self-referrals are also welcome.

The cost of attending Albany House varies based on the level of support required. Following an initial assessment, we will provide detailed information about fees. A financial assessment may also be conducted to determine any contributions.

A financial assessment will also be conducted by the Fairer Charging Team to determine any necessary contributions.

Transport can be provided for attendees, either a minibus or private taxi. This is dependent on the individuals’ assessed needs and will be confirmed prior to their visits commencing.

For those qualifying for the minibus, they will be collected from their home and taken back at the end of the session. Dependant on which area they live, pick up times can vary slightly but will normally be between 9am and 10am. All our minibuses are staffed with escorts who will assist citizens safely onto the bus and back to their front doors.
