Payments Maintenance 25th March 9am to 4:30pm |

Our online payment platform is scheduled to undergo routine maintenance on 25th March 2025, from 09:30 to 16:30. During this time, payment services via the Nottingham City Council website and Automated Telephone Service will be unavailable.

We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

All parking Penalty Charge Notices served by Nottingham City Council are done so under the Traffic Management Act 2004 (previously the Transport Act 2000).

Under this legislation, a two tier charging system is in operation and enforcement authorities must apply different levels of charges depending on the contravention type. The charges are as follows:

  • £70, which is reduced to £35 if it is paid within 14 days from the date of service of the Penalty Charge Notice (21 days from the day of service for bus lane contraventions)
  • £50, which is reduced to £25 if it is paid within 14 days from the date of service of the Penalty Charge Notice

Please do not pay the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) if you wish to submit a challenge as payment should not be made if the PCN is in dispute.

If you submit a challenge, your case will be put on hold and the amount owed will not increase.

Submitting fraudulent documentation to avoid the payment of a PCN is a criminal offence and may result in further action being taken.

You can only challenge or appeal a PCN using the following methods.
